What is your Focus?

Like a camera lens, our mind enlarges and clears that which is in focus, and the rest gets blurry and smaller. This has a dramatic impact on the rest of our being and something that we need to be aware of to live a live that can thrive.

The images in our minds impact our direction, emotions, and spirit. The words we speak and what we listen to and visually take in affects us-positively or negatively.

That is why its very important to plan and be intentional with your time and your day. How you begin your day, with what thoughts. Is it to social media right away in the morning? Or rushing out of bed so you're not late to work?

Or thoughts of fear and worry that rush in because you keep suppressing them and putting them off, but not addressing them isn't making them go away.

So many times I have read and heard about visualization. This is powerful and helpful in bringing our focus into something good, life changing, and impactful.

In the morning, before doing anything else, imagine the kind of day you want to have. Picture your demeanor and emotional state that you would like to stay in. Imagine how you are feeling having your coffee or tea. Who are you talking with? How do you want other people to experience you?

Just by picturing these things, you are going to subconsciously try to follow through because these are the things that you are now focusing on.

Another practical and easy focus that will fill your heart and soul is thinking of and focusing on five things you are most thankful for.

I encourage you to do a fast on anything that is negative, toxic, or draining on your emotions. Replace these things with those that are safe, healing, uplifting and/or peaceful.

What you focus on is what becomes real, its what you will subconsciously look for and seek, and will grow bigger in your life.

"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." (Philippians 4:8)
